By entering a competition work, the contestant accepts the terms of these regulations.
By entering a competition work, the contestant consents to their name being announced and published in news reports related to the competition if they achieve an award.
Contestants may enter an unlimited number of models. Competition works may only be entered under the name of their creator.
A competition work that has previously received an award at any Pelican Scale Model Cup is not eligible for entry.
Submission is possible on November 15, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
The jury reserves the right to further divide or merge categories, to reclassify a given competition work into another category in justified cases, and to disqualify it from the competition. The latter may occur in the case of self-inflicted entry in a league (hobby, master) and/or age group other than the one prescribed, or in the case of a work that offends piety or good taste.
Regarding the number of competition works, a minimum of five entries is required to open a category. If there are fewer entries, the category may be merged with a category with similar parameters. A given category will be further divided if the jury deems it justified.
In the Hobby categories, any modeler who does not belong to the group required to compete in the Master category and who accepts the competition rules may freely compete in the categories appropriate to their age group. The age groups of the Hobby categories are open upwards, meaning that anyone who wishes to compete in a higher age group than their own may do so. A contestant who is already required to compete in the Master category in another category may also compete in the Hobby category.
In the Master categories, any contestant who accepts the competition rules may freely compete. A contestant must compete in the Master category if they:
Competing in the Master category is primarily the responsibility of the contestant.
Anyone may compete in the Special category without restriction.
The jury consists of three members. A person may not serve as a juror in a category in which they have entered a competition work.
Following the close of entries, the judging process will begin, which is not open to the public.
One gold, one silver, and one bronze medal will be awarded in each category. A contestant may only receive one award in a single category.
The models are judged by visual inspection. The members of the jury select the competition works they deem the best by visual inspection (at least four, where possible), and then establish the order of the medals. If the quality of entries in a given category requires it, more works may be evaluated, even all the models in that category.
On November 15, 2025, after the results have been posted (from approx. 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM), there is an opportunity for a possible protest, against a deposit of 15,000 HUF. The protest must be submitted in writing within the given deadline.
The protest will be judged by a three-member committee, whose members are the head of the jury, a jury member from the category concerned, and the main organizer.
If the committee finds the protest to be justified, the result will be amended, and the deposit will be refunded.
Contestants who, after the protest period, question the legitimacy or fairness of the results, or criticize the professional competence of the jury (in any internet forum or in person), may be banned from further competition at events organized by the Pelican Scale Model Club Association based on the decision of an ethics committee.
Gold, silver, and bronze medal awards will be distributed in the categories. Within a given category, a contestant may only receive one award, unless their work is deemed worthy of a special prize by a sponsor.
All award winners will also receive a certificate.
A certificate of recognition does not constitute a placing.
The Best of Show award is given to the work selected based on the jury members' proposals; in the event of a tie in proposals, the decision is made by the head of the jury and the organizers.
The Audience Award is given based on the votes of the audience.
The return of the models will take place exclusively after the award ceremony, in small groups, under supervision, and against the claim slips received upon entry. Anyone who loses or does not bring their claim slip will only be able to retrieve their model after all other models have been collected.
